B. Pharmacy or Bachelor’s in Pharmacy is a 4-year UG degree that trains students for a career in the pharmaceutical industry. This course teaches the students about pharmaceutical sciences, medicinal chemistry, quality control, and healthcare. It also provides knowledge about the scientific study behind the manufacturing and usage of medicinal drugs. The course is not just focused on the theoretical aspect but also garners practical knowledge in the students through laboratory internships. These internships are really helpful in providing hands-on experience to the students.

B.Pharmacy Eligibility Criteria:

The candidates who want to pursue B Pharmacy must meet the following eligibility criteria:-

  • Pass the Class 12th board exams in Science Stream, with mandatory subjects being Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology.
  • The aggregate percentage of all the subjects should be a minimum of 50%.
  • Usually, the admission for B Pharmacy courses in most of the colleges is merit-based on Class 12th board marks, but in some colleges, the admission procedure relies on marks obtained in entrance tests like NEET, MHT CET, CUET, AP EAMCET, TS EAMCET, KCET, JEE Mains, KEAM, etc

DURATION AND COURSE STRUCTURE

The course is generally four years long, with each year divided into two semesters. The final semester includes mandatory industrial training (internship) for four to six weeks.

SYLLABUS AND SUBJECTS

The course includes both theoretical and practical aspects of the pharmaceutical sciences. The structure includes both core and elective subjects. The core subjects are considered fundamental pharmacy subjects, while elective subjects are optional for students and are generally added to make the course more flexible and diversified.

The important subjects include: Biochemical, Pharmaceutical analysis, Human Physiology, Inorganic Chemistry, Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, etc.

FEES STRUCTURE

The fees for the B Pharmacy course vary from college to college.

  • Government colleges:- 35,000 to 3.5 lakh per annum
  • Private colleges:- 1 lakh to 5 lakh per annum
